Darrell Taylor
Owner/Chief Executive Officer
Darrell Taylor began his career with an electrical engineering degree from Purdue University working as a design engineer creating patented robotics and electrical controls for various applications which many are still in use today.
From there, Darrell created and then operated an engineering and information technology department of a 1.2M sq ft facility of a major manufacturer while earning his MBA. Upon completion of his MBA, Darrell accepted a position as a program manager with a conglomerate Government contractor. In his career, Darrell obtained his Professional Engineering license in order to work for the public. Darrell founded a real estate investment company focused on reconstruction, rehabilitation, and leasing of properties. Darrell then partnered with a merger and acquisition firm with over 30 years of M&A experience and together with Darrell’s expertise in financial analysis, operational structures, business plan creation/packaging, an MBA, with a technical engineering background, he made the company one of the best firms in the area. In the 2010’s, Darrell also owned Premier Media Technologies, Destin’s highest-ranked luxury home automation systems contractor and Northwest Florida’s leading provider of custom home theater, audio, video, security, and home automation solutions. At Gulf Coast Electric, Darrell provides guidance and vision to the unequaled sophistication, professionalism, and respectability that is the history of Gulf Coast Electric. In his spare time, Darrell has enjoyed rebuilding antique pinball machines, traveling, hiking, hockey, and a small history of improvisational acting.
Jeff R. Linn
Founder / Advisory Board Chairman
In 1979 Jeff R. Linn graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and relocated to Destin, Florida. Mr. Linn took a job as an electricians helper with a small local electrical contracting firm and advanced rapidly to job foreman.
In 1980 Mr. Linn opened his own electrical contracting business, Gulf Coast Electric. The company operated out of a small garage/office located on Holiday Isle in Destin. In 1984 the company incorporated to J. R. Linn Electric Inc. d/b/a Gulf Coast Electric. A few years later the company had grown to over 35 employees, 25 trucks and operated out of a 3,000 sq. ft. office/warehouse located on Commerce Drive in the heart of Destin. Mr. Linn is a State of Florida Certified Licensed Electrical Contractor. Gulf Coast Electric was responsible for millions of dollars of electrical work in the surrounding communities both residential electrical and commercial electrical services. The company at that time was split into three divisions with a manager for each division. Residential Division providing electrical wiring of custom homes and renovations, Commercial Division and Service Division providing all types of electrical service work. Today Mr. Linn is still involved with the everyday operations of the company on a much smaller scale as the company is primarily involved in Electrical Service work. Today however just as he was over 30 years ago, Mr. Linn Still deeply cares and feels a responsibility for each and every customer’s utmost satisfaction along with the well being of the employees of Gulf Coast Electric.
Dale Reaves
Vice President
Dale Reaves is our Service Manager at Gulf Coast Electric. Dale is a highly experienced electrician pushing nearly a quarter-century of experience in the electrical industry.
Dale joined Gulf Coast Electric in 2005 as a service electrician after running his own electrical service company. On top of managing our technicians and clients, he is responsible for the daily scheduling of our electricians as well as communicating with our valued customers assuring their emergency electrical service needs are met.Margaret Smith
Treasurer
Margaret Smith is the Treasurer at Gulf Coast Electric. Margaret came to Gulf Coast Electric with 25 years experience in accounting and collections. She has worked in the financial field since 1997.
She also communicates with our valued customers assuring their services need are met. Margaret does an excellent job keeping Gulf Coast Electric running smoothly.
Ron Bowyer
Senior Estimator
Ron Bowyer is the Senior Estimator for Gulf Coast Electric.
Ron Bowyer is our Senior Estimator. Ron began his career as a Service Electrician in 1996. With over 20 years of electrical experience, Ron is responsible for all estimating aspects of our company. He does a great job at making our customers happy and truly understands the term ‘Customer Service’.
Emma Roger
Office Manager
Emma Roger is the Office Manager for Gulf Coast Electric.
Emma answers approximately 80% of all incoming phone calls, so it’s a good chance that when you call our phone number, you will be speaking with her! Emma excels at a high level of customer service, and if she can’t help you, she will get you to the person who can. She has her hands in everything in the office from customer service, to scheduling, to invoicing, and almost everything else that keeps our ship sailing smoothly.
Ken Lesko
Warehouse Manager/ Purchasing Agent
Ken Lesko is the Purchasing Agent / Warehouse Manager for Gulf Coast Electric.
Mr. Lesko is responsible for materials procurement and inventory control for not only the companies warehouse but also the inventory control of the companies service fleet of vehicles. He is in charge of shipping and receiving and provides delivery support for field electricians along with being in charge of vehicle fleet maintenance. Mr. Lesko is extremely resourceful and talented in finding hard to locate electrical materials and components. He brings years of experience to Gulf Coast Electric having been in charge of Purchasing and inventory control at other businesses before joining Gulf Coast Electric in 1997.
